The Bronx Bombers have a great team built for the 2020 season. Their roster is so deep there is no room for good players. Many people think the Yankees will open up the season differently.
My Starting Lineup Predictions
I predict the batting order to open the season will look like the following:
DJ Lemahieu 2B
Aaron Judge RF
Gleyber Torres SS
Giancarlo Stanton LF
Gary Sanchez C
Luke Voit 1B
Miguel Andujar DH
Gio Urshela 3B
Brett Gardner CF
I think the starting rotation will look like this:
Gerrit Cole
Masahiro Tanaka
J.A. Happ
Jordan Montgomery
I believe there will be a battle for the fifth spot between Deivi Garcia, Jonathan Loaisiga, and Michael King. I think the winner will be Deivi Garcia because last year he was a really talented prospect.
How Good Will They Really Be?
The Bombers will be amazing. Many people thought they would win it all last year, but I believe this year is the year. Last year they did not have the starting pitching. While their pitching was not horrible, it was not great. Even with Luis Severino out again (Tommy John Surgery) that won’t hurt the rotation. Severino missed most of last year and the team was still above average. In addition, to boost the rotation the bombers signed Gerrit Cole, an all-star pitcher. Last year the Yankees also had many injures. This season, with everyone healthy, I predict a championship.

It seems to me the Yankees have 5 significant injuries, including Aaron Judge, Stanton, and of course Severino. Pectoral muscle injuries like Judge’s are stubborn lingering problems. I think you may be overly optimistic in your hopes for a championship in the bronx. Do not worry though all hope is not lost for a championship in the Big Apple where Queens is looking better and better with each passing day!

While the Bombers may have some injuries, they can still be good. Last year was a perfect example; they had many injuries to important players like Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton, and Luis Severino. While Severino will be out again, the pinstripes have a new ace to replace him, Gerrit Cole. A championship in Queens, I don’t think so. While the Kings of Queens look better than last year, I don’t think they will win a championship.
